Georgia Mancio Quadro
Another fine set of Night Music from Cambridge Modern Jazz at Hidden Rooms.
Quadro (meaning picture in Italian) is the new trio by award-winning vocalist Georgia Mancio, with much lauded pianist Frank Harrison and bassist Andy Cleyndert. Together they present jazz and Brazilian standards alongside a re-invented classical repertoire by composers including Strayhorn and Ellington, Tom Jobim, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Artie Shaw and Waldemar Henrique.
Georgia has been acclaimed by The Guardian as a performer of character, conviction and understated virtuosity. Her work includes Bobby McFerrin, Sheila Jordan, Ian Shaw, Liane Carroll, Gwilym Simcock and ReVoice! - her own international voice festival. Most recently she has been performing, writing and recording with double Grammy-winning pianist/composer Alan Broadbent.
